Bijapur Thali

Here is a plateful of delicious food πŸ˜‹, that is completely high on nutrition.

So I was on this small study trip to Vijayapura , its a district in karnataka, well known for its great architectural masterpieces such as Gol gumbaz , Ibrahim roza and various other mosques and mausoleums . Its one of the famous hotspots for architecture in north karnataka . It is unique in its own way , the language , the food .... everything is different . Earlier it was named as Bijapur . The Bijapur khanawalis are quite famous in Karnataka . This Bijapur thali serves variety of Bhajis ( savory made out of chopped veggies ) with curds salads and chutneys ( mixture of spices and herbs deep fried ) which are way too yummy and lip smacking I must say . These savories  are eaten with chapatis or rotis with lots ghee on it .

There are varieties of chutneys served - Agashi (flax seed) chutney which is very much healthy and full of proteins , and then shenga (peanut) chutney , garlic chutney , ranzka ( red chilli chutney ) all of these are high on proteins . The salad contains chopped cucumber, onion, carrot, raddish, with salt and lemon sprinkled on it . There is Badnikai (brinjal) bhaji and Usal (mixture of all the cereals) . and Anna (steamed rice) with hot saaru (lentil soup or dal chawal in hindi) with uppinkayi (kachha mango pickle) just makes it the most perfect meal .

This lunch at Vijayapura was THE best I swear, so healthy , so yummy , so nutritious , so simple and mouth watering . It was one amazing meal which I will never forget . It was a complete package of healthy diet and delicious savories . It didn't fail to put a wide smile on my face and a great feel of satisfaction in my stomach that afternoon . Waiting to go back to vijayapura and gulp all of it again aaah  :) :) πŸ˜† πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‹
